Robert Childs, III

Attorney

Mr. Childs is a native of Greenville, South Carolina and obtained his bachelors degree in marketing and finance from the University of South Carolina. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1983. He has served as the Public Defender for Aiken County, an Assistant Solicitor for the 13th Judicial Circuit (Greenville and Pickens County), the Greenville County Attorney, the Deputy Solicitor for the 13th Judicial Circuit, and presently serves as the City Attorney for the City of Travelers Rest. He has been in private practice concentrating in Personal Injury and Criminal Defense since 1992. Robbie Childs was born and grew up in Northern Greenville County, South Carolina. He attended Slater-Marietta Elementary School, Slater-Marietta High School and graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 1977.

He received his undergraduate degree with a double major in Finance and Marketing in just 3 years at the University of South Carolina. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1983 and was admitted to practice by the South Carolina Bar in 1984. Robbie was hired to supervise a juvenile defense project in the Second Judicial Circuit in 1984 and was named the Public Defender for Aiken County, South Carolina in 1986. He returned to Greenville County in 1987 as an Assistant Circuit Solicitor for the 13th Judicial Circuit. He was appointed the County Attorney for Greenville County in 1988. Robbie returned to prosecution in 1990 as the Deputy Solicitor for the 13th Judicial Circuit, South Carolina. In 1993 Robbie entered the private practice of law in Greenville County, specializing in injuries, criminal defense, domestic litigation and governmental litigation and is also a certified Circuit Court Mediator.

Sulaiman S. Ahmad

Associate Attorney

Sulaiman was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. He received his bachelor's degree in Politics and International Affairs from Furman University. During his time as a student at Furman University, Sulaiman and two other classmates sued the Greenville County Election Commissioner over the right to vote. The lawsuit was covered in the New York Times.

Sulaiman decided to pursue his passion of helping others by attending law school. While in law school, Sulaiman was a member of the Mock Trial Bar where he gained experience in trial advocacy. Additionally, in 2021 he was requested by the Office of the Vice President of the United States to meet regarding the future of voting rights in South Carolina and the country. After three years of hard work, Sulaiman graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2023.

In May of 2024, he was admitted as a member of the South Carolina Bar.

In his spare time Sulaiman thoroughly enjoys practicing Muay Thai and binging the latest Netflix series.

Patsy N. Ahearn

Senior Paralegal and Office Manager

Patsy joined Childs Law Firm in April of 2018. Patsy received her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from SUNY Dutchess in Upstate New York. Prior to moving to Greenville, Patsy worked for Rinaldi Law & Tax as a personal injury paralegal. Patsy happily serves as Childs Law Firm’s personal injury paralegal working in the areas of automobile accident injuries, workers compensation, and general litigation. Patsy serves on the board of the South Carolina Upstate Paralegal Association and is a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem for Greenville County. In 2021, Patsy was awarded Paralegal of the Year and was also recognized as one of Greenville Business Magazine’s 2021 Best and Brightest 35 and Under. These days her free time consists of planning her wedding and cake sampling with her fiancé.

Kenzie Archie

Intern

Mackenzie Archie joined Childs Law Firm in June of 2023 as an intern. She is currently going to Greenville Technical College to receive her associate degree in Paralegal Studies. Mackenzie hopes to use her time at Childs Law Firm to help further her knowledge into working in the paralegal field. During Mackenzie's spare time you can find her reading or watching movies.

Laura J. Kirby

Paralegal

Laura joined Child’s Law Firm in July of 2023.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Law and Policy from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She received her associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida.

Prior to joining Child’s Law Firm, she worked as a civil litigation paralegal at both Carlock, Copeland & Stair in Charleston, SC and at Gallivan, White, & Boyd in Greenville, SC.

Laura is an active member of the South Carolina Upstate Paralegal Association.

In Laura’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her four boys, exploring new restaurants with her husband, and volunteering in her church.
